The Watchtower Attempts to Eliminate Discrepancies in Authority

i began pondering about the reasons why this new light was made and have come to a few theories that may be plausible.

my conclusion is that the society is hell bent on eliminating the discrepancies to their authority.. .

the ancient lineage of the faithful and discreet slave - eliminated.

Agreed, except to point out that it's THEY that through the looking glass, not US: we're still on this side of reality (and I'm not crossing over, unless being dragged into their wild and wooly world of fantasy and make-believe, LOL)!

I just watched bits of that WT video in the thread below, and it literally would take MAJOR closed-head trauma and traumatic brain injury, forgetting EVERYTHING I know about science, in order to swallow the glorious non-sense that's loaded with powerful and seductive "appeals to emotion" that are on display in the video.

a video will be posted later today where all the mysteries of god, the disgusting thing causing desolation, all the contradictions in the bible, why god in the old testament seemed so cruel, why was satan created if god is good, how is god love?

all of the prophecies jesus had foretold which were hidden and lost yet being fullfilled the entire time.

this is the good news that will then spread worldwide, and then the end will come.

it offers a highly sanitized version of early jw history.

but what is particularly strange is this revisionist history re-categorizing of an early bible student/jw, one hugo riemer.

Yup, that's a point I just made in abother thread, where JWs will be confused by the CHANGES in the interpretation and NOT the interpretation itself, and likely just give up on understanding it by assuming they're too stoopid (sic) to understand. It's the "King's New Clothes" dynamic, the strategy of, "if you cannot dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS".

Of course, there's not two slaves: it's the SAME head slave, and whether he is "evil" or "faithful" is determined BY the master, but only AFTER the master returns and assesses whether he's performed as tasked before the master departed.

However, the "collective" element of the GB DOES allow them to dismiss the actions of an individual apostate member of the GB (eg Ray Franz) as actions of an individual MEMBER of the GROUP, and thus does not effect the status or performance of the whole body, as long as they cut them off (think of a salamander regenerating a limb that was amputated).

What the Domestics part of the "new light" can / will create

thinking a lot last days about the new light about the fds, today i got an idea about the following.. - both the 1) annointed and 2) the rank and file witness aka great crowd are now part of the domestics.. so, in practice, it doesn't matter you have a heavenly or and earthly hope for the future.. because, the domestics can have a heavenly or an earthly hope.. what i think is that this part of the new light sets open the gates for jehovahs witnesses with a heavenly hope.. and more in future: how longer the "new systems of things" will stay away, the watchtower can switch to a doctrine with only a heavenly hope, "living for ever in a paradise in heaven".. what do you think about this?!?.

Yup.

I'm leaning towards thinking that they're going to make JW eschatology as confusing and contradictory that most will give up trying to understand it to discourage questioning, blaming themselves into thinking they're just too dumb to understand it. Or if asked, those authority figures will be telling people to "wait until the New System" or the kiss-off given to Job: mere mortals cannot understand the mysterious workings of God.

It's the classic strategy of "if you cannot dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with BS".

So this mean Ray Franz was of The Faithful & Discreet Slave or was he of the Evil Slave?

From what I've read on the forum, the term FDS refers to the GB collectively when performing their official duties. So that creates ANOTHER problem, since Ray Franz and Olin Moyle were characterized individually as "evil servants", when they're now saying that the body collectively is the "faithful servant".

That bit of illogic could be side-stepped by explaining that it's like one part of the faithful servant's body decided to "go rogue" (which makes sense, if you think back to Jesus' advice to cut off your hand or gouge out your eye if it stumbles you!).

I use 21st century hardware and software, darling. The very fact that you can post you-tube videos shows clear evidence that you use 20th century hardware and software.

I'm using 22nd Century software and hardware, stuff that's so good that even the most state-of-the-art website won't work with it, so nah!

Probably why on this end it embedded THREE windows for the YouTube video (although in HTML editor mode, there's only ONE link).

PS I love the bit in the video where the JW encounters an atheist in FS, and encourages him to open his Bible to read Job.

PSS they also made video of a typical meeting, and Memorial which captures the essence of the sheer mind-numbingly boringness of both.

That's the danger of religious ideologies getting control over secular government via theocracies eg Iran, where President Ahmadinejad serves under the Supreme Ruler, Ayatollah Khamenei, a religious figure.
